About The Position

Road & Rail Services is seeking a reliable, safety-minded team member for our Montgomery operation. As a Railcar Prep & Inspection Technician, you will examine, clean, and prepare railcars for service. You may also perform authorized minor repairs using stick welding. This active, hands-on position is performed primarily outdoors around rail equipment. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing the job correctly, and can stay productive in a fast-moving industrial environment.

Requirements

• Previous stick-welding experience
• Familiarity with common hand and power tools
• Ability to understand and follow work instructions
• Willingness to work outdoors throughout the year
• Consistent, dependable attendance
• Strong commitment to safety and quality

Nice To Haves

• Experience in rail operations, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, construction, or another hands-on labor environment

Responsibilities

• Examine railcars for visible damage, excessive wear, and signs of fatigue
• Operate railcar end doors safely
• Clear dirt, debris, and other materials with backpack blowers and scraping equipment
• Identify repair needs that fall within the company's approved scope of work
• Complete authorized minor repairs using stick-welding techniques
• Care for assigned tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment
• Maintain an orderly and hazard-free work area
• Follow all Road & Rail Services, customer, and industry safety requirements
