About The Position
PSC Group is hiring dependable, safety-minded individuals for a full-time Rail Switching position in Cicero, Illinois. The role involves working outdoors to safely move railcars within an industrial facility and support day-to-day operations in a critical logistics role. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and legally able to work in the United States.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment without restriction and pass any required medical exams.
- Speak, write, and read fluent English.
- Maintain regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
- A valid driver's license and/or valid TWIC card may be required, depending on work location.
Nice To Haves
- Rail switching experience; experience is not required, and paid on-the-job training is available.
- Previous military experience.
- Proven ability to follow procedures.
Responsibilities
- Review track lists to identify and organize railcars for spotting, separating, loading, or outbound movement.
- Ensure railcars are properly connected and secured by setting brakes and verifying couplings.
- Separate loaded cars for shipment from preloaded or empty railcars.
- Weigh inbound and outbound cars to confirm compliance with weight limits.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support safe and efficient rail operations.
