Requirements

  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
  • Fundamental Mechanical Theory knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years prior industrial mechanical maintenance experience
  • Experience with various welding and oxy cutting operations
  • Understanding of basic electrical theory

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting spike producing equipment, developing and implementing projects for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring equipment produces prime spikes and must attain product knowledge for the purposes of inspection and disposition.
  • Effectively communicating with the rail spike team, including leadership.
  • Operation of forging equipment, operation of overhead cranes, operation of the locomotive, housekeeping, and other duties assigned.
  • Initiating, leading, and upholding safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
