About The Position

Rail Operator – Slave Lake

Proudly Canadian, Tiger Calcium is one of North America's largest calcium chloride producers, drawing from the largest known natural reserve. We define the industry standard for quality—unmatched in either breadth or scope.

We manufacture, supply, transport and apply premium calcium chloride products for anti-icing, deicing and dust control. But that's not all. We also formulate custom fluids for, available for purchase or rental 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.

Tiger is seeking Rail Operator at our Slave Lake, Alberta, facilities to load Tiger’s fleet of rail cars with calcium as well as completing all paperwork required for the position.

Requirements

• High school equivalency
• Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
• Knowledge of working on top of rail cars as well as washing inside tank cars
• Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports
• Ability to multi-task
• Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest, and consistent approach to working with others

Nice To Haves

• Previous industry experience would be an asset
• Certification in the following would be considered an asset
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space
• H2S
• Rail car safety securement

Responsibilities

• Load all rail cars
• Washing rail cars
• Follow Alberta Transportation’s regulations on rail car securement
• Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area
• Summer and winter site maintenance (vegetation control and snow removal)
• Maintain a daily record of all work tasks and materials
• Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices
• Completing daily job hazard assessments
