About The Position

The Radiology Transporter is responsible for the daily operations of transporting patients to and from the Radiology department. This role involves working effectively with staff, patients, and families of all ages. The transporter will also perform clerical and some environmental service duties as needed.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Must have BLS upon hire or 30 days post hire date.
Must be able to communicate orally with patients of all ages.
Must be able to report to work fit for duty and free of any adverse effects of illegal drugs, medical marijuana, prescription medication, and/or alcohol.
Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals.
Maintain current BLS status.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a health care setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

Transport of all patients in the Radiology department from hospital floors.
Prioritize workload and handle stressful situations professionally, organizing work during high volume to expedite patient transport and communicating with technologists about pending exams and pertinent information.
Communicate with each modality involved with a patient to limit the number of trips required to each department.
Promote positive relationships at the department level, discuss concerns with the supervisor, and represent the department positively to other employees and staff.
Willingly assist other staff members in any area of radiology when needed, checking with co-workers during downtime for the need of assistance.
Follow attendance and tardy policies.
Follow WRMC dress code and appearance policy.
Participate in required hospital and department in-services and meetings.
Follow safety and infection control policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
