This position performs radiological procedures under the direction of a radiologist, providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. The role involves preparing and positioning patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately, and preparing and administering contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice. The technologist will observe patients during procedures, monitor protocols, and ensure adherence to radiation safety procedures. Responsibilities also include ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, maintaining equipment, and assisting in keeping the department clean and orderly. Bone density scans using DEXA equipment may also be performed.
