The Radiology Technologist will perform radiological procedures under the direction of a radiologist, providing quality images to physicians to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. This role involves preparing and positioning patients for imaging, selecting exposure factors accurately, and preparing and administering contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice. The technologist will observe patients during procedures, monitor protocols, and ensure adherence to radiation safety procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure. A key responsibility is the prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct lead markers and patient data. The role also includes ensuring equipment is properly functioning, reporting malfunctions, and assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly department. If applicable, the technologist may perform bone density scans using DEXA equipment.
