About The Position

Provides health care services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner. The position is at Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts. Work is scheduled during the day, Monday through Friday, with flexed hours. Overtime may be needed, and the role includes on-call duty and weekend rotations.

Requirements

• Graduate of a certificate program in radiography or hold an Associate in Science degree.
• Certification by ARRT in radiography, or equivalent; certification must be renewed annually.
• Licensure in radiography by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; licensure must be renewed biannually.
• Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment operation, radiation safety, positioning techniques, and patient transfers.
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or projects.
• Ethical and professional conduct.
• Understanding of age-related developmental issues in pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed, participate in on-call duty, and work weekend rotations.

Nice To Haves

• One to three years of experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in preparing, identifying, positioning, and protecting patients, and in applying radiographic techniques for imaging procedures.
• Use the RIS/HIS computer system to document accurate and timely patient and procedure information.
• Assist physicians with fluoroscopic and interventional procedures, prepare contrast as needed, and ensure imaging rooms are properly set up and functional before procedures.
• Use techniques that minimize radiation exposure to the employee, patients, the general public, and other health care personnel.
• Modify care according to the patient's age.
• Participate in orientation and clinical education of student radiographers in accordance with clinical education center guidelines for radiologic technology programs.
