About The Position

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiologic procedures as ordered by Provider. This is a Full Time/Benefits Eligible position with two shift options: Monday-Friday - 9:30am-6:00pm OR Tuesday-Friday - 7:30am-6:00pm. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, taking x-rays, explaining procedures, using radiation protection, ensuring equipment is functional, processing paperwork, maintaining examination rooms, attending meetings, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Completion of course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Current Ohio Department of Health Radiology license
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics and patient movement
  • Skill in properly positioning patients as well as properly identifying equipment problems
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patient, medical staff, and the public
  • Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
  • Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices
  • Ability to work on a team and display a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent relationship building skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
  • Take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
  • Explain procedure to patient and answer questions.
  • Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials as well as various media.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and reports malfunctions to appropriate person(s).
  • Process routine paperwork as necessary.
  • Maintain examination rooms, stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  • Attend required staff and educational meetings.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
