Atrium Health Lake Norman is a state-of-the-art health care campus offering high-quality health care to Lake Norman and the surrounding area. It includes an acute care hospital, emergency department and specialty care center, all wrapped into one convenient location. The hospital features 36 patient care beds, including 12 dedicated women's and children's care beds, an 8-room emergency department open 24/7, 3 operating rooms, including a cesarean (C-section) delivery room, 2 newborn nursery stations, 2 triage rooms, 1 procedure room, and imaging services, including MRI, CT scan, X-ray, ultrasound and more, along with laboratory services. Whether you're having a baby, undergoing surgery or need emergency care at any hour of the day or night, our expert physicians, nurses and support staff will be by your side.

Requirements

• Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
• Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
• CPR certification required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
• Requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Handles equipment and monitoring supplies.
• Must have good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff.
• May be required to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat or kneel in operating radiographic equipment.
• Must be able to use hands for power gripping, speed work and precision during manipulation of radiographic equipment and in the case of injured and diseased patients.
• Vision and hearing for distances of up to 10 feet is necessary.
• May be exposed to various physical conditions throughout the workday such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment.
• Able to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
• Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
• Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
• Coordinates daily activities to include performing examinations and associated clerical duties.
