This is a technical position requiring training in the field of radiology technology. The individual is responsible for performing radiographic examinations, assisting radiologists and other physicians during fluoroscopic studies, and performing exams in the operating room and the emergency room. The role requires complete competency to operate all routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic equipment, and to perform exams in a timely manner. The technologist must be able to accurately perform all routine procedures, including arthrograms, venograms, myelograms, lumbar puncture, sialograms, barium studies, and any study requiring contrast injection. The ability to assess film quality and make corrections is essential. The role also involves completing all computer procedures for quality management and demonstrating knowledge of ordering, tracking, and canceling exams. Exams must be performed competently and in a timely manner in the emergency room and surgery. The technologist must be able to operate all portables and C-Arm equipment, and maintain a repeat rate of less than 5%.
