Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention. The technologist exercises professional judgment, delivers appropriate care recognizing patient conditions, and complies with all state and federal regulations. They assess patients' physical condition and age-specific needs, provide instructions for cooperation, and ensure proper patient identification and documentation. The role includes positioning patients and equipment, manipulating technical factors for high-quality images, and assessing images for technical quality. Adherence to radiation safety principles, Quality Control standards, and proficiency in contrast medication administration are essential. The technologist also administers medical aid in emergencies, applies standard precautions, assists in supervising students, and effectively utilizes radiology computer systems. Maintaining regular attendance and compliance with all Orlando Health policies is required.
