About The Position

The Radiology Technologist performs quality radiology procedures safely. This part-time role is in the Department of Radiology and requires 40 hours a week. Pay is based on experience, with an estimated compensation range of $26.35–$40.84 per hour and a starting rate of $26.35 per hour. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

Associate's degree.
ARRT Radiography (R) certification within one year of hire.
BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
IEMA certification from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

Responsibilities

Accurately identify images and document proper consents, orders, and screening forms in patient records.
Determine the portion of the body to be imaged and position it appropriately for imaging.
Follow procedure policies and protocols, including protocol guides and hospital policy.
Keep the work area neat and clean.
Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and operational checks.
Perform exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling department-specific equipment.
Position patients and body parts for radiologic exams, using proper collimation and patient shielding.
Process images to the PACS system.
Produce technically excellent images.
Use ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure to staff and patients.
Use the Hospital Information System (HIS) to obtain patient information, verify orders, complete charges, and process studies.
Use proper safety techniques when scanning patients and provide quality imaging.
