About The Position

Beloit Clinic is looking to add a Radiology Technologist to our Team! This role provides patient services using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. The technologist performs radiographic and other related imaging procedures, producing images for interpretation by a physician, and applies principles of radiation protection. The position involves evaluating radiographs for technical quality, exercising professional judgment, and providing patient care essential to radiographic procedures. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiographic services, operating imaging equipment, positioning patients, and ensuring proper patient and image identification. The role also involves cross-training for a minimum of a second location within the health system based upon department needs and performing phlebotomy on patients using aseptic techniques, including proper patient identification and specimen labeling. The technologist will assist in patient care, provide input for equipment and supply decisions, detect and report equipment malfunctions, and perform clerical, scheduling, and filing functions. Additionally, the role contributes to the department's quality assurance and improvement program and must maintain continuing education hours as required by ARRT.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Radiologic Technology and ARRT registered.
  • Licensed in the state you work.
  • CRP certified.
  • Self-motivated and maintains acceptable levels of initiative and productivity.

  • Cross trained for a minimum of a second location within the health system based upon department needs.
  • Performs phlebotomy on patients by the appropriate method, using aseptic techniques.
  • Properly identifies patients prior to phlebotomy with two means of identification.
  • Properly labels all specimens with required information at patient's side. Hand labels tubes with two identifiers if labels are not available. Initials tube label and includes specific collection time.
  • Instructs patient on proper collection procedures.
  • Assists in aspects of patient care including transportation and PACs processing.
  • Provides input for equipment and supply decisions.
  • Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions.
  • Performs clerical, scheduling, and filing functions.
  • Assumes responsibility for portions of department quality assurance and improvement program.

  • Assumes responsibility for assigned area ensuring the work area is neat, orderly, stocked, and maintains a safe work environment.
  • Supervises, assists, instructs, and communicates effectively with radiology students.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position.
  • Interacts in a positive, responsible, and cooperative manner with patients, physicians, coworkers, and managers.
  • Attends mandatory safety training sessions and adheres to Beloit Health System and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ensures security of PHI.
