About The Position
Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center is part of Northern Nevada Health System, a regional multi-facility system that has excelled at offering quality care to residents of the greater Truckee Meadows. Sierra Medical Center is a 170-bed acute care hospital offering services including 24/7 ER care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and much more. This Radiology Technologist opportunity is full time @ 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient day shift schedule. This dynamic individual will perform a variety of imaging procedures in Surgery, Emergency Department, Pain Center and the Imaging Department and is responsible for patient safety protocols. This individual functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in CQI activities.
Requirements
- High School graduate; BS degree preferred .
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Current BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Knows and applies infection control policies and processes when handling and disposing of blood and body fluids.
- Correctly formulates Radiographic exposure factors and use of phototiming.
- Practices radiation protection.
- Basic knowledge and skill in the care of IV’s, catheters, NG tubes and various “Ostomies”.
