About The Position

The Radiology Technologist operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves reviewing and evaluating images, recording patient histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during scans. The technologist also prepares examination rooms, performs maintenance on equipment, and adheres to university policies and procedures. This is a part-time, temporary-intermittent position requiring flexibility in scheduling, including on-call duties and weekends.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Responsibilities

  • Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors patients’ conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.
  • Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.
  • Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.
  • Records, processes, maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.
  • Organizes examination rooms ensuring that necessary equipment is ready for use.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
