About The Position

Join a collaborative radiology team dedicated to delivering safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging and an exceptional patient experience. Under the general direction of the Manager, the Radiology Technologist performs a variety of patient care and imaging duties using radiographic equipment and established department protocols. This role supports accurate diagnosis by producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and understanding throughout each exam.

Requirements

  • Certificate or diploma in Radiography required.
  • Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist license required, as applicable.
  • Registered Technologist credential through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, R.T.(ARRT), required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Radiography preferred.
  • ARRT registration preferred at time of hire.
  • Experience in radiologic technology preferred; new graduates and early-career candidates may be considered.
  • Patient care experience or demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Confirm the correct patient and exam through patient identification, interview, clinical history, medical record review, and appropriate documentation.
  • Explain exams, safety protocols, and procedures to patients while taking into consideration individual physical, emotional, and language needs.
  • Position patients and adjust equipment settings using proper automated or manual technical factors to safely obtain diagnostic-quality images.
  • Perform required imaging exams using appropriate equipment in accordance with department protocols and Radiologist requests.
  • Operate radiographic, fluoroscopic, portable, diagnostic, and other imaging equipment as needed.
  • Ensure exams are accurately labeled prior to transmission to PACS and verify that images are successfully available in PACS.
  • Maintain a strong focus on radiation safety principles, including ALARA, patient shielding when appropriate, and department safety standards.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations, infection control needs, and changes in patient condition.
  • Provide compassionate, professional patient care while maintaining composure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists, clinical staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to support efficient patient flow and high-quality outcomes.
  • Maintain equipment readiness, exam room organization, and supply availability according to department expectations.
  • Support departmental coverage needs and perform additional duties as assigned.
