Performs diagnostic imaging procedures using medical imaging equipment to produce images of tissues, organs, bones, and vessels. Takes rotational call. Primarily Interacts with: administration, physicians, employees, clinical and non-clinical departments, patients, visitors, vendors and volunteers. Operates radiology equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by the physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures to facilitate the highest quality of patient care. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives and infection control policies. Assures radiographic and all equipment necessary for radiographic procedures is in optimal condition. Contacts equipment service companies when necessary for repair. Maintains radiographic services in accordance with standards established by the hospital and with State and Federal standards, which may apply. Receives requests and performs secretarial duties in absence of department secretary. Prepares radiographic room or other equipment (portable, C.T.). Gathers supplies for procedures. Files reports and distributes copies of reports to proper destination, as requested. Provides exemplary customer service. Maintains confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA. Cordially demonstrates timeliness and professionalism in appearance, communications, and actions during all interactions and with all individuals and entities. Solves practical problems, dealing with a variety of issues, and interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form. Attends meetings as required. Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
