This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians. The role involves confirming patient identity, checking in patients, scheduling appointments, creating Radiology Modules, and escorting patients to examination rooms. It requires interpreting patient histories and physician instructions, preparing patients for procedures using aseptic and sterile techniques, and positioning patients for radiologic examinations. The technologist will select exposure factors, process images, and practice radiation protection. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, potentially operating diagnostic bone density equipment, and recording pertinent information on requisitions. The role also involves directly entering orders into the electronic medical record, responding to patient emergencies, cleaning work areas and equipment, and performing maintenance. Image management duties within PACS and NextGen systems are required, along with timely and accurate documentation of patient information. Check-out duties include ensuring patient encounter forms are completed thoroughly and accurately, sending letters and reminders to patients, and serving as a liaison between patient and physician. The position requires maintaining compliance with government and clinic standards, providing support to clerical and clinical staff, and performing other duties as assigned within the scope of certification/registration/licensure.
