About The Position

The Radiology Technologist / Medical Assistant performs dual responsibilities to support the delivery of high-quality imaging and clinical services. This position assists providers by performing diagnostic X-ray exams and clinical procedures, maintaining safety and compliance, and ensuring excellent patient care in alignment with Community Medical Group (CMG) standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current ARRT certification (R) and valid Florida State Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of radiologic techniques, anatomy, and patient positioning.
  • Ability to operate and maintain radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and data entry.
  • Understanding of infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and radiation safety regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, providers, and coworkers.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
  • Customer service–oriented mindset with a commitment to patient care excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical and/or imaging experience preferred, ideally in an outpatient or primary care setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray exams and imaging procedures as ordered by providers.
  • Prepare and position patients to obtain optimal image quality while maintaining comfort and safety.
  • Operate radiology equipment in accordance with CMG standards and radiation safety protocols.
  • Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of images in the EMR system.
  • Maintain accurate daily X-ray logs and ensure timely completion and documentation of diagnostic reports
  • Collaborate with providers and medical assistants to support patient flow and care coordination.
  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, verify patient information, and update EMR records.
  • Assist providers during exams and minor procedures, handling instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Administer medications or injections under provider direction and within certification scope.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing and process documentation.
  • Prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for patients.
  • Monitor and record vaccine refrigerator temperatures and medication expiration dates per AHCA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and CMG safety and confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain all required certifications up to date.
  • Prepare patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and referrals as needed.
  • Support patient education by providing instructions on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold CMG’s standards of compassion, integrity, and accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership.
