Radiology Technician - Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
About The Position
BayCare Clinic Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is looking for a Radiology Technician to join their team in Green Bay, WI. This role involves performing diagnostic radiographic exams, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining equipment quality. The position offers a varied schedule between 7 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with no holidays or weekends required. BayCare Clinic is a physician-owned entity with a strong referral base through its joint ownership in Aurora BayCare Medical Center.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
- Certification or registry eligible from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or other accepted accrediting bodies.
- Must be CPR certified within one year of employment.
Responsibilities
- Performs appropriate diagnostic radiographic exams.
- Accurately identifies and labels radiographs.
- Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic exams.
- Provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods and sound professional ethics.
- Adheres to established quality standards and performs equipment quality assurance tests as directed.
- Assesses data reflective of the patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs.
- Reports malfunctioning equipment.
- Assists in clinical direction and evaluation of student technologists.
- Properly lifts and transports patients as needed.
- Compares requisitions to physician orders to ensure accuracy of ordered examinations.
- Responsible for outside film.
- Responsible for keeping all radiology policies current.
- Attends and participates in professional organizations and continuing education programs for personal/professional growth.
- Monitors radiation badges.
- Accurately completes payroll on a daily basis.
- Adheres to department rules and standards for attendance.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
