About The Position

The Gavin Goorjian Community Health Center (GJGHC) provides comprehensive, high-quality primary care and wellness services to individuals and families in our community. The Radiology Technician is responsible for inpatient care and diagnostic imaging, performing mammograms under the guidance of the Radiologist. The Radiology Technician ensures patient comfort and safety while following all regulatory, quality, and radiation safety standards.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while recognizing when to escalate issues to leadership.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and a patient-centered approach in daily work.
  • Fluent in English, bilingual in Spanish recommended.
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • A.R.R.T. registered and certified in mammography with at least one year of experience. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Advanced mammography training as required by the State of Nevada and M.S.Q.A.
  • Ability to pass a background check, fingerprinting, and drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of an approved program in Ultrasound Technology or a licensed RT(R) who has received on-the-job training and must be ARDMS registered.
  • ARRT Bone Densitometry (RT(BD)) certification or eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality radiology procedures to include; mammogram, dexa scan, x-ray, and ultrasound procedures in accordance with established protocols
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain accurate documentation of imaging and patient records
  • Adhere to state and federal regulations, including M.S.Q.A. standards
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and fellow technologists
  • Remaining flexible and responsive to scheduling needs and workflow priorities
  • Instruct and assist patients in assuming the physical position for the appropriate test.
  • Conduct or train for the proper operation of all equipment.
  • Maintain radiology equipment and rooms in proper working condition. Performs QC on equipment as established by MQSA. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to management
  • Arrange for preventative maintenance, including calibrations of equipment.
  • Performs other duties and/or special projects assigned
