About The Position

The Staff Radiologic Technologist provides high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging services using various imaging modalities. This role performs diagnostic procedures in accordance with physician orders, applies radiation protection principles including ALARA standards, and exercises professional judgment to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The technologist maintains strong working relationships with patients, medical staff, and colleagues while supporting departmental and hospital objectives. This is a PRN (as-needed) position. The selected candidate must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, based on departmental needs. Additional hours may be required at the request of the supervisor to meet departmental objectives. Work hours may increase or decrease depending on patient volume and operational needs. Schedule flexibility is required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT eligible
  • South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) license is required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced ARRT certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols and physician orders
  • Apply radiation safety principles and maintain compliance with ALARA standards
  • Ensure proper patient identification, positioning, and image quality
  • Provide patient care essential to imaging procedures, including monitoring patient condition
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate appropriate life support measures when necessary
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
  • Ensure imaging equipment is properly maintained and functioning
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments
  • Comply with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards
