About The Position

This position involves reviewing patient history and physician's orders, educating patients about procedures, preparing and administering contrast media and/or medications, monitoring patient condition, preparing equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, implementing safety standards and quality control, troubleshooting equipment, positioning patients, performing imaging procedures, analyzing results, taking action to resolve image quality issues, and entering, transmitting, and reporting scan results.

Requirements

• Graduate of Program in Discipline
• MT Limited Radiologic Technologist or MT Radiologic Technologist License upon hire.
• ARRT within 6 months of hire or three months post-graduation
• BCLS within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and the physician's orders.
• Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning the patient and repeating the procedure.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
