About The Position

We are seeking Radiology Technicians to join our team in Tallahassee, FL. This position involves performing routine radiologic procedures, working with diverse patient populations, and maintaining radiographic equipment. The role requires a strong understanding of diagnostic imaging techniques and patient care. Responsibilities include evaluating equipment, scheduling exams, and communicating with medical staff and radiologists. The technician will also be responsible for preparing digital x-rays, managing patient records, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and facility-specific procedures. This role is crucial for providing quality diagnostic imaging services.

Requirements

  • Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures.
  • Must have at a minimum two years of experience working as a Radiology Technician.
  • Must have completed an approved Florida licensed Radio-Technology training program.
  • Must also possess a current unrestricted state license to practice as a Radiology Technician
  • Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Must hold and maintain a current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff.
  • Work with patients from a variety of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs.
  • Schedule exams and maintain records.
  • Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging.
  • Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam.
  • Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety.
  • Independently perform all radiographic procedures, i.e., chest, bone, skull, spines, and portable x-rays, etc.
  • Notify Radiologist or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed.
  • Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.
  • Work with Clinical Director to ensure monitoring and evaluation activities are completed.
  • Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
  • Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
  • Develop a working knowledge of FCI/FDC Tallahassee medical protocols.
  • Wear outer protective clothing and obey CDC universal precautions at all times.
  • Function in other duties commensurate of a Radiological Technician.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Computerization and printing of daily log; Computerization and printing of exam requisitions.
  • Printing of all folders and exam labels; Completing of all x-ray studies ordered by the medical staff.
  • Preparing digital x-rays to transmit to the contracted radiologist for interpretation.
  • Transport of x-rays to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Transport all x-rays from radiologist after interpretation.
  • Assisting the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies and notifying staff when supplies are needed.
  • Conducting quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on x-ray equipment as needed.
  • Assisting with FDA inspections and preparation for JCAHO and program review as needed.
  • Assuring that all x-ray requests are completed properly; and Computerization of patient logs and repeat analysis.
  • Assuring that all x-ray equipment is operational and aprons are checked for leaks and breaks according to policy.
  • Maintain log.
  • Receive badges exposure reports.
  • Give the report to the Clinical Director or designee for review and signature.
  • Ensure that high exposures are documented.
  • Prepare forms for badges orders quarterly.
  • Maintain log.
