This role performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. This is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider. The position involves performing provider-ordered radiographic examinations for specific anatomical parts allowed by obtained licensure, conducting proper patient positioning, and utilizing appropriate radiation protection. The technician determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment, and reports any malfunction to their supervisor. They also assist in medical documentation and clinical assistant duties, participate in promoting a positive culture and teamwork, and maintain a safe and supportive environment. The role may require travel to other facilities or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs, and performing cross-functional duties including front desk tasks like registration, scheduling, and answering phones.
