About The Position

This role performs digital X-ray studies on patients per the orders placed by providers. This is a multi-skilled clinical professional who works within the scope of practice to assist in patient care under the direction of the provider. The position involves performing provider-ordered radiographic examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning and radiation protection, and maintaining equipment. Additionally, the role may assist with medical documentation, clinical assistant duties, and cross-functional tasks such as front desk duties, registration, scheduling, and answering phones. The technician is expected to contribute to a positive culture, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to legal responsibilities. Travel to other facilities or adjusting work hours may be required. Requirements

• Limited Scope Radiology Licensure or General Machine X-Ray Operator Licensure per state requirement
• High School Diploma or GED
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

Nice To Haves

• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to independent patient care)
• Must be a student in final year or graduate in a formal radiologic technology training program
• 1 year of healthcare or clerical physician practice experience
• EPIC Electronic Health Record

Responsibilities

• Performs provider ordered radiographic examinations for specific anatomical parts allowed by obtained licensure
• Conducts proper patient positioning, immobilization, utilizing appropriate radiation protection
• Determines and selects proper electronic and technical factors which safeguard the patient, x-ray tube, and equipment, and reports immediately any malfunction, necessary adjustments, or repairs of equipment to supervisor
• Assists in medical documentation and clinical assistant duties as directed and supervised by the Provider
• Participates in promotion of positive culture and teamwork and demonstrates excellence in care in all interactions, for both patients and internal teams
• Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, exam rooms, and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe manner
• Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements within the role
• Travels to other facilities if necessary or adjusting work hours to meet patient care needs as directed by the manager
• Performs cross-functional duties as needed, including front desk duties such as registration, scheduling, answering phones and other duties not limited to scribing, ordering of supplies
