About The Position

Desert Valley Hospital is seeking a Radiology Technician II for its Peripheral Vascular Lab. The hospital is an accredited 148-bed acute care facility in Southern California and is part of the Prime Healthcare Foundation. The technician performs imaging procedures according to department protocols, serves as a first-line interface with customers, and helps meet their imaging needs. The role also supports quality and performance improvement activities, maintains supplies and equipment, coordinates scheduling for assigned subdepartments, and processes and transmits images to PACS. In the Manager’s or Director’s absence, the technician oversees the radiology area and/or staff. This is a full-time, day-shift position.

Requirements

Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by the state.
Appropriate national certifications in two modalities, required effective July 1, 2017.
Current BCLS (AHA).
Familiarity with state and federal regulations.
Graduation from a program accredited by JRCERT.
Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of acute clinical radiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic radiographic, CAT scan, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, or special procedures according to department protocols.
Serve as the first-line interface with customers and help accomplish their imaging needs.
Participate in PI/QC activities and assist in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program.
Oversee the radiology area and/or staff in the Manager’s or Director’s absence.
Maintain department supplies.
Promote teamwork and good customer service.
Schedule for assigned subdepartments and maintain their supplies and equipment.
Process and transmit images to PACS.
