About The Position

The Ambulatory Radiology Float Pool provides staffing support for ambulatory clinics across the entire Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist region. This role primarily supports orthopedic clinics; however, there are often needs in urgent care and family medicine areas as well. Applicants should have a minimum of two years’ direct patient care experience. In addition to base pay, an hourly float pool premium is applicable.

Requirements

• Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology
• Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
• BLS required
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
• Minimum of two years’ direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
• Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
• Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
• Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
• Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
