Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Must maintain required Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure.
- Must possess a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiologic technology principles, practices, procedures, and patient-care standards.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program preferred/required based on departmental requirements.
- 1–2 years of diagnostic radiology experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and positions patients for a variety of radiological examinations.
- Operates radiographic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Performs imaging procedures in accordance with department protocols and established standards.
- Maintains a strong focus on radiation safety and takes appropriate measures to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Administers radiopaque contrast material for enhanced examinations under the supervision of a radiologist, as applicable.
- Monitors patients throughout examinations and responds appropriately to their needs or changes in condition.
- Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and excellent communication when interacting with patients and their families.
- Uses independent problem-solving and sound judgment when performing assigned duties.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation related to examinations.
- Collaborates effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Performs duties with limited supervision while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Reports to the Chief Technologist or Radiology Manager.
