About The Position

This position is responsible for performing mammography and stereotactic breast procedures under the direction of a radiologist. The technologist will greet patients, prepare them for their exams, and explain the procedures. Key responsibilities include positioning patients correctly, using appropriate exposure factors for high-quality radiographs, and maintaining quality standards for mammography as per ACR and Hologic manuals. The role also involves tracking patient information in the Radiology Information System for documentation and billing, meeting continuing education requirements, and performing other tasks to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements

• AAS in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
• NYS license/registration or eligible.
• ARRT in Mammography.
• Minimum of one-year progressive technical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performing mammography and stereotactic breast procedures.
• Greeting patients, preparing them for exams, and explaining procedures.
• Positioning patients appropriately for radiographs.
• Using proper exposure factors to obtain high-quality radiographs.
• Maintaining quality standards for mammography as required by the 1999 ACR Mammography QA/QC Manual and Hologic Selenia Dimensions QC Manual.
• Maintaining continuing education requirements specified by MQSA.
• Tracking of patient information into the Radiology information system for documentation and billing purposes.
• Performing other tasks necessary to maintain quality patient care.
