Join the Intervention Radiology RN Team in a per diem capacity at Corning Hospital! This position will be mostly days, but with some evening flexibility as needs come up. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved registered nurse school of nursing.
  • Must possess NY state license as RN.
  • CPR Certified Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 1‐year RN Med/Surg experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS within 1 YR of hire.
  • Minimum 1‐year emergency and/or critical care nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Documentation per Policy and Procedure.
  • Patient/family/significant other teaching.
  • Medication Administration, IV Therapy, Blood Administration.
  • Hospital and unit specific Policy and Procedure including basic equipment usage.
  • Demonstrates Nursing Process ‐ ability to independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for all patients at all acuity levels.
  • Emergency preparedness: Includes all aspects of patient safety, CPR defibrillator, external pacemaker, fire and disaster plans, and emergency call systems.
  • Demonstrates basic skills and use of basic unit equipment.
  • Demonstrates competency in contrast media administration and outcome monitoring.
  • Computer skill relevant to job performance.
  • Infection Control.
  • Radiation Safety.
  • IV Conscious Sedation ‐ Pediatric and Adult.
  • VAD access and blood draw.
  • Assist with biopsies.
  • Completion of Epic Training Class including competency exam.
  • Cleaning and restocking rooms daily.
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations (e.g. trauma).
  • Reports problems occurring with equipment to Coordinator or Director of Imaging.
  • Meets regularly at Radiology departmental meetings.
  • Acts as a resource person for nursing, medical, and radiology staff.
  • Functions as liaison between radiology and nursing units.
  • Participates in the development and evaluation of policies and procedures in radiology.
  • Ensures daily that all emergency equipment is available and functional. Responsible for the checking of medications.
  • Must have ability to react quickly to emergency situations such as patient fainting, patient being unsteady while standing for procedures, if unsafe situation occurs (such as a fire), getting the patient to safety and sounding alarm.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, on a scheduled basis.
  • Must be able to lift, push, reach, bend, stoop, and walk in order to care for patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
