About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Diagnostic Radiology Supervisor, Radiology Manager and the Director of Radiology, the Lead Technologist leads, plans and coordinates the daily operations of the Diagnostic Radiology department through interactions with support and technical staff, other departments, Radiologists and others as necessary. Primary duty is to coordinate all aspects of the day-to-day operations in various locations (Newton Pavilion, Shapiro, Menino Pavilion, Whittier and Agganis clinics) to ensure the delivery of quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge of principles and procedures of Diagnostic Radiology and the operation and maintenance of Radiology equipment generally acquired through the completion of two years post-high school training in an approved school of Radiology.
  • Current MA license in Radiography, ARRT (R) certification and registration and all applicable Radiology education requirements.
  • BLS/CPR Certification required.
  • 1-2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology imaging protocols, processes, techniques and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS).
  • Ability to rely on experience, judgment and time management skills to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Must present a positive team oriented attitude and a professional appearance.
  • Ability to adhere to safety standards set forth by the Radiology Department, BMC and other regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and all/any apprehensions, to instruct students/staff and to interact with other staff technologists.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff, ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; to set priorities and solve problems; to respond quickly to emergency requests.
