About The Position

This position is for a Radiology Interventional Technologist/Special Procedure Tech at our Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR. It is a Full-Time position with Day Shift hours. The role involves engaging in a variety of specialties within the hospital, contributing to positive patient outcomes. The team is empowered to improve processes that directly impact patients' lives, as demonstrated by a successful pilot project to reduce door-to-device time for stroke patients. Radiology Interventional Technologists (RITs) work in four-person teams, operating fluoroscopy units and being trained in various intravascular imaging, atherectomy, and thrombectomy equipment, as well as circulating during procedures. The ideal candidate is ambitious, open to growth in the percutaneous interventional treatment field, and capable of providing kind and compassionate care. Under the direct supervision of a physician, the RIT provides Cardiovascular/Radiologic care for diagnosis and/or treatment, assists the physician, and monitors radiation safety.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Oregon Radiographer License upon hire
  • National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or Special Procedures Lab.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Philips fluoroscopy units.
  • Set up and operate various intravascular imaging equipment (Philips IVUS, Abbott OCT).
  • Set up and operate atherectomy equipment (including rotoblator, CSI, Shockwave, and laser).
  • Set up and operate thrombectomy equipment (Penumbra, AngioJet, Inari).
  • Circulate during procedures.
  • Provide Cardiovascular/Radiologic care to patients for diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders under the direct supervision of the physician.
  • Assist physician as required.
  • Monitor radiation safety during procedures.
