About The Position

This role supports and promotes the goals and objectives of the Department of Radiology and Mayo Clinic. The specialist is responsible for providing customer service to both internal and external stakeholders, including physicians, allied health staff, and medical center personnel. Key activities involve Radiology Data Management and Archive area operations, such as film management, electronic image media creation, film digitization, electronic image transfer, quality assurance, and corrections. The position aims to facilitate and enhance the reading room work environment by improving workflow and reducing interruptions to increase efficiency, safety, and productivity. The specialist will assist in managing patient priority and the flow of information to and from the Radiologist, ensuring timely results to ancillary departments and care providers. Responsibilities include taking positive action in problem-solving and working with various computer systems. The role requires positive communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to customer service, demonstrated ability to work harmoniously in a team environment, flexibility, and the ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. The specialist must understand and adapt to changes in procedures easily and supportively, rotate through areas on a scheduled basis, and possess the ability to problem-solve, organize, and process information with speed and accuracy. Maintaining excellent attendance is also crucial.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledgeable in various computer systems and applications.
  • Good clerical aptitude and computer skills with accurate keyboarding.
  • Knowledge of anatomy.
  • Manages Radiology data with accuracy in an organized manner.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and interactions.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Knowledge of PHI and HIPAA organizational policies and guidelines.
