About The Position

Colorado Springs Urology is seeking a detail-oriented Radiology Coordinator to support patient imaging coordination, scheduling, authorizations, and communication between providers, imaging facilities, and patients. This role is essential to ensuring timely and accurate radiology services while delivering excellent patient care. The Radiology Coordinator is responsible for performing all duties related to pre-certification, submitting all radiology testing and admissions and ensure patients are properly scheduled for all testing. Must possess strong organization, communication and computer skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ year of healthcare experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • 1 year experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Customer-oriented with ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies.
  • Basic knowledge of health insurance products (HMO, PPO, HSA, Commercial, Medicare etc.).
  • Ability to answer multiple incoming telephone calls.
  • Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations and experience in navigating EMRs.
  • Complies with HR and HIPPA confidentiality standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Radiology scheduling experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with EMR systems preferred
  • Some college work preferred.
  • 1 year of radiology scheduling experience (physician's office, clinic or hospital) strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Schedule diagnostic imaging and coordinate testing
  • Obtain authorizations and track imaging orders
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and imaging facilities
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation
  • Support front desk operations as needed
  • Order and schedule diagnostic imaging testing.
  • Input and generate reports to ensure all orders have been submitted appropriately and updated in EMR system.
  • Works closely with providers, medical assistants, imaging facilities and hospital regarding patient care.
  • Assure patients imaging orders are processed in a timely manner per HIPPA guidelines.
  • Request imaging/ reports from imaging facility.
  • Returns patient calls in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Notify patients by phone or mail regarding imaging not completed.
  • Obtains authorizations when required.
  • Order tracking (track all orders submitted to imaging facility).
  • Schedules appointments include STAT orders (same day appointments).
  • Cross train for coverage.
  • Front Desk coverage, patient check in/out as needed.
  • Scans incoming faxes, consents, reports, and all other patient information into patient chart.
  • Performs other position related duties as assigned.

This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
