About The Position

SIMEDHealth is hiring a full-time Radiology Assistant for its Gainesville imaging center. The role supports patient care by providing clerical, technical, and patient assistance under the guidance of licensed radiology technologists and physicians. The assistant helps prepare patients and rooms, supports procedures across imaging modalities, provides patient education, and maintains accurate records to help ensure an efficient patient experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated proficiency using computers.
Current CPR/BLS certification, or ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
Solid understanding of medical terminology.
Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds.
Two years of experience in a medical office or clinical setting.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with Intergy or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Assist with imaging studies and diagnostic procedures.
Complete patient information accurately on study tech sheets and perform other clerical tasks.
Prepare imaging rooms for specific studies.
Verify patient identity using two identifiers.
Explain procedures and provide helpful information to patients and their families.
Assist with the safe and comfortable transfer of patients.
Position patients appropriately while maintaining their comfort and privacy.
Help keep exam and dressing rooms clean, organized, and well supplied.
Communicate professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Review imaging orders for completeness and adherence to criteria.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Organize and manage tasks and information.
Compile and process patient forms, including contrast consents and MRI safety questionnaires.
Use the EMR system to view patient data, verify orders, review diagnosis codes, document relevant information, and manage appointments.
