About The Position

The Capitol Medical Group is seeking a full-time Radiologist with fellowship training in Breast Imaging to join the hospital service team at George Washington University Hospital in Washington DC. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within a strong academic environment with teaching opportunities. This is an employed position with a high-volume service with a heavy focus on breast imaging. The team includes physicians, MAs, dedicated breast technologists, ultrasound techs, a Nurse Navigator, ABUS technologists, and dedicated administrative staff. The academic setting is equipped with the latest technology, and the position includes a non-tenured track appointment.

Requirements

Board Certification in Radiology
Candidates must be fellowship-trained in Breast Imaging
Candidates should be proficient in minimally invasive breast biopsy procedures in all modalities
Valid medical license in the District of Columbia by time of appointment
Interest in academic medicine and teaching

Responsibilities

Multimodality approach to screening for breast cancer including DBT, ABUS, MRI and BSGI
Average volume includes approximately 40 screening exams, 35 diagnostic exams, 8-10 ABUS exams and 6 MRI exams per day. Additionally, there are approximately 12-15 DEXA exams performed at the outpatient center
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncology and nurse navigators
Plain film weekend call; approximately 8 total per year
Participate in tumor board discussions within an academic setting while working with residents and breast imaging fellows
