About The Position

Responsible for taking radiological exams and related duties. This role is part of a team-based approach to patient care, emphasizing training and functioning at the highest level allowed by state law. The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position.

Requirements

Minimum of one year customer service experience in a health care setting.
Graduate from an accredited X-ray Technologists Program.
American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) registration required.
TN State license required
Current CPR certification.
Basic phone, computer, and copier skills required.

Nice To Haves

Mammography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares patients for radiology procedures.
Takes radiographs following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Maintains high quality/quantity standards.
Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
Complies with all policies regarding safety, infection control and universal precautions.
Prepares contrast media.
Ensures equipment is in working order.
Reports malfunction to supervisor.
Logs radiology procedures completed.
Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
Maintains procedure room.
Stocks necessary medical and radiology supplies.
Perform light cleaning on procedure room.
Produces X-Rays in a digital format and sends them via PACS System to the Radiologist for interpretation.
Applicants may be asked to cross train in other specialty areas.
Maintains certifications/registries, ARRT status and TN state license in good standing.
Keep continuing education credits current.
