Responsible for taking radiological exams and related duties. This role involves preparing patients for radiology procedures, taking radiographs following established procedures for patient care and safety, and maintaining high quality/quantity standards. The technologist will use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials, comply with all policies regarding safety, infection control, and universal precautions, and prepare contrast media. Ensuring equipment is in working order and reporting malfunctions to the supervisor is also a key responsibility. The role includes logging radiology procedures, processing paperwork using computer equipment, maintaining the procedure room, stocking supplies, and performing light cleaning. Producing X-rays in digital format and sending them via PACS System to the Radiologist for interpretation is required. Applicants may be asked to cross-train in other specialty areas. Basic phone, computer, and copier skills are necessary. Maintaining certifications/registries, ARRT status, and TN state license in good standing, as well as keeping continuing education credits current, is essential.
