Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation for diagnosis of disease processes and delineation of both normal/abnormal anatomy as well as pathological conditions in areas of the human body. Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skill levels in areas of expertise to ensure production of high quality images (Portable, C-arm, Fluoroscopy, Digital Radiography (DR), Computed Radiography (CR)), safe operation of equipment and accessories with proper warm-up exposure, daily QC and good reporting techniques. Demonstrates Radiation and MRI Safety and Protection techniques to minimize hazards. Performs correct exam on correct patient using two patient identifiers. Follows PACS and Meditech workflow, reviewing, approving and entering information in a timely and accurate manner. Consults with the radiologist on duty to assure correct scanning parameters when necessary. Provides technical knowledge and monitors the delivery of radiological services. Works closely with the MD/PA to coordinate patient examinations with special circumstances. Ensures daily operations are performed in a timely and proficient manner. Provides excellent patient care and creates an environment in which customers feel valued and respected. Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times. Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team. Utilizes hospital resources and time respectfully and accountably. Applies Lean principles and participates in Lean board.
