About The Position

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited school for Radiology Technology.
  • Current ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license.
  • A valid, unrestricted license to perform general radiographic procedures in the state of New Mexico.
  • Mandatory current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of experience with basic X-ray or trauma work.

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform digital radiological examinations and bone density scans for a variety of patients, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult.
  • Conduct routine digitalized studies of the neck, trunk, and extremities to locate injuries, pathological conditions, or foreign bodies.
  • Secure patient cooperation and utilize proper positioning, including the use of immobilizing straps or sandbags to obtain requested views.
  • Apply thorough knowledge of radiation protection standards to shield patients with lead devices and restrict X-ray beams to designated areas.
  • Calculate and set exposure factors (time, distance, kilo-voltage, and milliamperage) and monitor equipment for proper operation.
  • Ensure all radiographs are read by a certified radiologist and reports are delivered to medical providers promptly.
