Radiological Controls Technician
About The Position
The Radiological Controls Technician (RCT) provides radiological oversight and leadership for all crew personnel to ensure the highest radiological standards are kept. This role involves performing radiological surveys of work and work areas, accurately documenting these surveys, and interpreting radiological controls requirements. The RCT will participate in task scoping, provide technical review of work documents, and interface with operations personnel concerning radiological controls during work execution. Additionally, the technician will respond to radiological casualties as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain radiological controls qualifications.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) “L” security clearance.
- All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
- Selected applicants are required to successfully complete a pre-employment check and drug screening.
- The position may require the ability to obtain and maintain applicable federal eligibility requirements for access to classified/sensitive information or matter which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation, drug test, previous employment, and reference verifications.
Nice To Haves
- Two years of college (math or science program), or vocational school Radiological Technician program is preferred.
- Successful candidate not previously Article 108 RCT qualified, will be required to temporarily relocate to Norfolk, Virginia to attend Radiological Controls Technician Qualification School (RCTQS) for approximately six months.
