We have an opening for a Radiological Control Technician (RCT) in the Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) Directorate, to support the National Ignition Facility (NIF) and Photon Sciences Principal Directorate. You will complete qualifications as a Department Of Energy (DOE) RCT through the LLNL RCT training program and provide radiological control functions, health physics counting lab support and operation and maintenance of radiological monitoring equipment in support of multi-shift operations; perform radiological and beryllium surveys and measurements; oversee radiological aspects of work performed by NIF technicians; perform decontamination and maintenance on equipment contaminated with radioactive materials and/or beryllium. This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.
