About The Position
UR Medicine Imaging has several great opportunities to join the team as Radiology Technologist. The Department of Imaging is much more than just x-rays, is at the forefront of diagnostic and therapeutic imaging technologies. We provide patient-focused diagnostic imaging services to Strong Memorial Hospital, as well as to patients in the Greater Rochester and Monroe County communities. As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) your responsibilities include producing high quality X-Ray images, with a focus on quality, accuracy and customer service. Imaging covers a variety of specialties from Emergency to Pediatric, Bone, Abdominal, Neurological and Cardiovascular imaging.
Requirements
- Completed formal training in Radiologic Technology
- Prior experience using the standard technology and equipment for diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner.
- Verifies and follows referring providers' orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies.
- Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted.
- Receives training as well as regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist to perform proficiency of the required tasks.
- Takes independent responsibility for performing general section studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer work while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.
