About The Position

Under the supervision of the Senior Radiologic Technologist, this role provides direct patient care services and other related functions in support of the department. The technologist works independently within the scope of department policies and clinically at the direction of a qualified Radiologist. This position involves performing diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, gathering clinical data, maintaining accurate patient records, and assisting physicians with interventional exams. The role also includes performing QA on images, submitting exams to PACS, assisting with inventory, and performing various radiology procedures including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology. A key aspect of this role is the requirement to travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support, with float requirements applying to newly hired staff at UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited radiological program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Demonstrated ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting, collaborating with peers to product optimum results.
Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients and families.

Responsibilities

Properly performs all diagnostic and fluoroscopic radiologic techniques and examinations, consistent with the age of the patient, within in-patient or outpatient settings, in compliance with departmental and professional standards and protocols.
Gathers pertinent clinical data and maintain accurate patient records.
Accurately completes all exams, paperwork and submits promptly.
Positions and transfers patients appropriately.
Assists physicians with interventional exams.
Promptly and properly completes exams and appropriately performs QA to images and then sends exams to PACS for review by the radiologist.
Assists in maintaining an orderly inventory.
Provides Radiological technology skills to perform all exams including portables, Emergency Department work, C-ARM, fluoroscopy, and general radiology procedures.
Assists with any other job-related duties including film hanging, office duties and discrepancy documentation and follow-up.
Travel between Marlborough and Nashoba/Groton as scheduled to provide operational, administrative, or departmental support.
The float requirements only apply to UMass Memorial Nashoba Valley's newly hired staff
