About The Position

American Family Care (AFC) is hiring a Radiologic Technologist (RT), also known as an X-Ray Technologist or Rad Tech, to provide imaging and clinical support in an urgent care setting. The role combines diagnostic imaging with hands-on support for urgent care operations and patient care. The position requires safe X-ray procedures, collaboration with providers, and flexibility to assist with medical assistant and medical receptionist duties as needed. AFC was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. It operates more than 400 company-owned and franchised centers across the United States and cares for over 3.5 million patients annually. The expected pay range is $40.00–$46.00 per hour. Requirements

ARRT certification as R.T. (R) in good standing.
State Radiologic Technologist license where required.
Current BLS certification.
Strong insurance verification and EMR documentation skills.
Flexibility and willingness to cover medical assistant and medical receptionist duties.
Ability to work in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
Ability to stand and lift up to 50 lbs.
PPE use is required due to exposure to radiation and biohazards.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of urgent care or ER imaging experience.
Experience in radiology, CT, or MRI.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic radiology (X-ray) exams safely, following ALARA.
Collaborate with providers to support timely care.
Support urgent care operations and perform medical assistant duties when not performing imaging, including triage, labs, venipuncture, and wound care.
Assist with medical receptionist tasks, including insurance verification, registration, and payment collection.
Maintain equipment quality-control and compliance logs.
Provide float coverage as expected.
