About The Position

As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at MUSC, you will use state-of-the-art imaging equipment to capture detailed X-ray images that support diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of medical conditions. Work may span MUSC’s community hospitals, including level 1 trauma centers, and outpatient clinics across South Carolina. Radiologic Technology roles offer exposure to diverse specialties and collaboration with radiologists and providers. The position includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus and minimal on-call requirements: three on-call days every 13 weeks. Additional pay may include call pay and overtime.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Zero to two years of modality-specific work experience.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); candidates not registered at hire must obtain registration within six months of hire.
Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), either an American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or recognized equivalent, or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and maintaining required vision, hearing, and sensory capabilities.
Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.

Responsibilities

Perform radiographic procedures requiring a strong understanding of anatomical positioning and human physiology.
Apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic imaging in adult and/or pediatric populations.
Demonstrate a high level of technical competency in imaging procedures.
Exercise independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity with minimal supervision.
