Emory Healthcare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join their team. This PRN position involves operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs for diagnostic purposes. The role includes performing routine, portable, operating room, and fluoroscopic exams, as well as complex radiographic procedures. The technologist will position patients, adjust equipment, explain procedures to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation, and ensure patient preparation. They will also be responsible for minimizing radiation exposure to staff and patients, assisting in training radiology staff and students, and participating in quality assurance activities. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential. The role also involves patient care documentation, completing procedures in the Radiology Information System for billing, and participating in performance improvement data collection. Safety requirements and radiation protection techniques are paramount, including the use of personal protective equipment and beam restrictive devices. The technologist will also be responsible for the safe operation, cleaning, stocking, and basic troubleshooting of radiologic equipment.
