About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Radiologic Technologist in the Shenango Valley Op Surgery Svcs department. The role involves preparing patients for radiology procedures, managing patient safety, maintaining records, and ensuring the radiology area is clean and organized. Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and team members is crucial for successful patient outcomes. The position also requires adherence to compliance and safety regulations, as well as performing quality control measures and managing supplies and equipment.

Requirements

Professional knowledge of Radiology and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist.
Current BLS Healthcare Provider card.
If assigned to the Neuro-Alert Team, additional stroke education is required. Refer to Administrative Policy A-148 for education requirements.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for radiology procedures with fluoroscopy.
Import outside patient radiology exams into PACS system.
Maintain patient safety.
Maintain film badges.
Communicate with patients and other medical facilities regarding radiology tests/films and CD’s.
Assist with patient flow by rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
Prepare patient for examination by practitioner.
Assure the radiology area is clean and organized.
Observe and comply with all personnel policies and procedures.
Communicate and interact effectively with patients and families, physicians, peers and other team members to maximize successful patient outcomes.
Maintain the confidentiality of patient and staff related information.
Follow compliance and safety requirements.
Perform Quality Control measures as needed.
Formulating and understanding repeat analysis.
Maintain supplies within Radiology.
Communicate equipment errors and malfunctions with MMC Bio-Med or appropriate service engineers.
Other duties as assigned.
